My medium is Kiri-e, my own style paper cutting. I came to Bellevue in 1978.
I have been here ever since combining Pacific Northwest and Japanese natural imagery in my art pieces. You can see my public art at the Pike Place Market, Uwajimaya Seattle store (Dragon Tower) and Isan Bellevue.

The Seattle Chapter 19, chartered March 16, 1959, is dedicated to cultivating and perpetuating the study of Ikebana by demonstrations and public exhibitions, with a deep purpose of establishing a better relationship among all people. The chapter celebrated its 60th anniversary in June 2019. Our chapter is administered by our volunteer members.

Rainier Ginsha is a group of persons pursuing the way of Haiku, apart of Japanese culture. Haiku is a short form of poetry of seventeen letters to express appreciation of nature, change of seasons, life, experiences, emotions, understanding end even philosophy. It was established in Seattle in 1934, continued in Camp during World War II, resumed in Seattle and is still active today. Rainier Ginsha follows the Haiku principles established by Kyoshi Takahama (Hototogisu Haiku). Two to four times a year, members' haikus are sent to Japan to be critiqued by a Hototogisu teacher. Haiku Meeting (KUKAI) are held by online “Natsugumo System”, Zoom, and face-to-face meeting once a month regularly.

Sakura-Con is an annual anime convention held in Seattle, Washington, organized by the Asia-Northwest Cultural Education Association (ANCEA). As one of the largest anime conventions in the Pacific Northwest, it attracts thousands of attendees each year. The event features a wide range of activities, including cosplay contests, panel discussions, gaming tournaments, screenings of anime and films, concerts, and vendor halls.

The Seattle Go Center teaches and promotes the Asian game of Go. This 4000 year old strategy board game continues to fascinate players around the world.
